Good app to share pictures, but cover art from music folder shows up and It would be cool if you could play the music from it

Well, nice idea, but no cigar, yet! Interface is not intuitive, it is not responsive to gathering info about photos on the device. It takes forever for it to detect changes in my folders on the drive, and Im sitting here in the same room with the drive and wifi router, not across town. Also, randomly, it just loses contact with the drive and cant access it anymore. Very frustrating. Does not live up to the hype! The companion app, "WD My Cloud" is much better than this one about reading the drive structure and adapting, but doesnt do slideshow, etc. I really like the way Apple displays thumbs and photos, and navigates folders in the iCloud. To bad WD cant come up with that type of interface. Seems like they are stuck in PC mode and not figured out how mobile users work with their devices. Worked with it for a few more days. I have moved all the photos off the drive a couple days ago. It is still trying to load them. I have set up a new share and it does not appear. I have cleared the,cache,several times. Cant figure out where it keeps the content info to force it to start over actually reading the drive. It doesnt care what is really on the drive, but keeping its list of what was there last week. Oh, well. Im giving up!

Its über rare that I write a review, but this app fails and fails often. I use this app with mycloud and it struggles to work, it did work for a little and now after trying countless troubleshooting technics it will not show any photos. So lesson learned and WD products no more.

I would really like it if there was a message after the upload completes letting me know everything uploaded successfully.

Please western digital - fix this app. Used to work well but no longer able to find and load images that have been on the iCloud Drive over a year. The companion app "my cloud" works well but no slideshow. Come on people, get with the program. I am now off looking for something else.

Thumbnails never load for any photos, even when I am in the same room as the drive.

Last update to this app was in 2014. I think that says enough.

Very first time I uploaded pics and vids got the thumbnails, so it can apparently do it - I can only see them on my Mac, not my iPhone. Every time thereafter - nothing. Wont even detect these thumbnail-less pictures. Makes ZERO sense to only allow you to upload your photos to a public folder on your private cloud. Apparently this is "by design". Renders these nice devices functionally useless for photos and videos. So unbelievably disappointing.

This app has great potential but does not work very well. Some shares dont show up despite having the correct connection and the right access. Some of the sub shares dont all show up. Ive been working on this for several days & support website states the following, Cause: WD Photos processes photos at about 30 seconds each: Average time to complete on an idle My Book World Edition (White Light): 500 Photos4 hours, 10 minutes 2500 Photos20 hours, 50 minutes 5000 Photos1 day, 17 hours, 40 minutes 10,000 Photos3 days, 11 hours, 20 minutes 20,000 Photos6 days, 22 hours, 40 minutes Solution: Wait until the transcoding is complete. So, my big question is, why does this transcoding "really" entail? Why does the "My Cloud" app take only a few seconds after Ive made adjustments to my NAS? Why does this particular app take that long to process? Where is this transcoding being processed? Whats the point of having a NAS if this app takes that long to "transcode"? Sounds a bit fishy to me. Dont trust this app.

When I first started using this app, every thing worked fine and was very happy with the ability to see photos from no matter where I was. For about the last year its been a useless app as photos wont load. Guessing due to either iOS changes or app updates, they made something incomparable.

Cannot go beyond the first time setup process (after more than two weeks). It keeps giving the same error (unable to process photo database). And to contact support you need to register with them or go to a terrible forum for all their products together. Really disappointed with this app.

Inconsistant update from mybook live

Software is very slow to download and upload photos , slow to download to the hard drive cloud , cannot resize file size! Password messed up would not recommend this to anyone except IT person to keep it up in some kind of working order! Software is not for the beginner !

Lacks options and pics often fail to load or upload especially when your NOT on your network

This app is obviously very basic but one doesnt expect this app to display blurred pictures, slow response times and unreliable connectivity. Come on WD you can do much better. I will now return WD ex2 and get a synology unfortunately not a friendly ecosystem of apps with WD.

I just replaces all my devices due to a carrier change. None of my new devices is able to be set up with this app. Im able to find my device within network and to login to my web version in it, but the set ip crashes every time on all of them... What can be done? Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the app and nothing.... I hate not to be able to use my cloud!!!

First off, I would recommend using the my cloud app over this one. Supposedly it takes a couple of minutes to "transcode" each photo that is added to the NAS before it shows up on app. Problem being I have no idea how that works or why it doesnt work. Good example, I added an entire new folder with photos and after several WEEKS they are still not showing up on this app. Yet these same photos were visible on the my cloud app almost instantly.

Please come up with a Music Player App. Theres already a Photo Viewer App. Wish it allowed you to delete photos also. Facebook photo sharing no longer works. Kept getting error.

But not what I expected

This app is old school. It needs to be refreshed to incorporate the iOS 9 design and some basic functionality, such as hiding folders that are not photo galleries. Its annoying that it shows all graphic files and clip art across all your folders in your NAS, which are not photos.
